This is the first stage, it limits the hairline scratches, and the pre-wash will get rid of some of the dirt from your vehicle.
Thorough washing enables dirt (dusts, bird droppings or insects…) to be removed from the bodywork so you get a clean vehicle.
After your car has been regularly washed, the bodywork will become contaminated (tar, resin, industrial fallout…).
Once you have decontaminated your car, there will still be blemishes (traces of acid rain, stains and scratches…) which you can get rid of through polishing.
This nourishes the paintwork and gives it a sheen after the polishing and before wax (“glaze”) is applied, and it helps to remove contaminants.
This involves protecting your bodywork from external damage (the wax will form a protective barrier), and giving it a lustre.
This is the last stage, and it involves giving a perfect finish to the external and internal surfaces.
